Update as of 20/10/21 Summary of Rowing NSW’s latest COVID19 advice as provided on 18/10/21 - community sport and competition can return - RNSW is still assessing how to safely re-commence events on their calendar - crewed boats (all sizes) are allowed provided all crew members are vaccinated - outdoor gatherings can go up to 50 if all involved are fully vaccinated - standard protocols for indoors - 4sq m per person and health and hygiene practises etc including wearing face masks inside - club arrangements must be in keeping with public health orders in order to maintain insurance. Please see ARC’s recently updated Covid plan on this page. Your co-operation in its implementation is appreciated
Update as of 4/10/21 In light of new advice from NSW Maritime of 28 September, in addition to singles and household doubles and pairs, members that are currently able to row (ie they live with the 5 km and are double vaccinated if rowing in a booking time slot with more than one other) can choose to row in a double or pair. On the Monday post NSW reaching 70%, currently estimated to be Monday 11th October, members will be able to book rowing times in the Google sheet in groups up to 8, if those in the time slot have all indicated that they are double vaccinated. If not, the limit remains at two. Informal public gatherings are limited to 20 people and we have tried to take into account handover times when boats are leaving and returning to the ramp, free space to move around in the shed etc. Please exercise common-sense and patience. All of the club’s existing Covid 19 Plan requirements and protocols continue to apply including, coming to the shed ready to row, using boats and oars that Enza has allocated, personal hand hygiene, thorough cleaning of equipment, maintaining distance, not coming to the shed if feeling unwell etc. We know that the Government has indicated that at 80% double vaccinated that community sport (training, coaching and competition) will be able to resume. Timing of the return to bigger boats is unknown. The CoM has agreed to an out of session meeting if there are significant changes in the public health orders, advisories from Government agencies or RNSW. Update as of 18/9/21 Both The NSW Office of Sport and Rowing NSW have also been very clear that it is each club or organisation’s responsibility to assess the NSW Public Health Orders in the context of their facilities and environments. The CoM considered the Public Health Orders, a multitude of external advice, guidelines, views of the club coaches, individual interpretations and in the end, we took what some may say was a cautious approach to protect the ongoing operations of the club. Until further advised: - the maximum number or rowers per half hour booking slot will go from two to three, provided all three are fully vaccinated. We did not go to “up to 5" at the moment due to complications associated with members returning to the shed and going out from the shed which can create the “up to five” permitted to gather outdoors, the limit on demand (due to the 5km exercise restriction and those choosing not to row a single) and given only two members can be inside the shed. - if there is a member rowing that is not double vaccinated or from a Local Government Area of concern, the maximum number per booking slot remains at two - doubles or pairs continue to be only available to two members of the same household - masks continue to be required to be worn in the shed - anyone visiting the shed in any capacity must record their attendance on the Google Sheet as this is the electronic means of being able to provide information externally in a worst case scenario Your co-operation with these arrangements will be much appreciated.
